Hey all,
Just hoping someone might know...
I got some springs from a US 540 M-tech Manual (I think). Before I put them in I was wanting to verify the part numbers so I know exactly what they are- so I searched the online ETK but the part number stamped on the spring does not cross-reference to anything in the database. Searching by car yields different part numbers, which depend on year and spring part numbers are not listed for several years of the 540i anyway. Can anyone provide any hints on verifying springs?
The part numbers (on the springs) are
Rear BMW1138818R8W (pink paint dabbed on it)
Front HS7BMWCG1138811 (red paint dabbed on it)
(The ETK lists completely different numbers)
The last thing I want to do is put the wrong springs in and have to take them all out again. Many thanks in advance for any wisdoms imparted on this obscure query.. :) Nick
