9005 and us spec headlight

can you put a 9005 bulb in the low beam of the US factory Spec headlight..
all the articles i have read about it has been for the euro ellipsod headlights

Euro ellipsoids take H1 bulbs so I'm not sure what you've been reading. However, yes you can use 9005 bulbs in US ellipsoid only headlights. See Bruno's site to learn how. http://www.bmwe34.net/e34main/upgrade/more_light.htm

what i mean't is can do the upgrade to the US spec non ellpsoid headlights

Unless someone knows otherwise, I don't think that will work. My 1992 came with the same anemic non-ellipsoid low beams and they really sucked. When they needed to be replaced (hich couldn't come soon enough) I ended up putting in euro-ellipsoids coupled with an HID H1 compatible kit -it's a big improvement.

i think you can just you may have to make sure that the headlights are adjusted perfectly so you don't blind anyone

If you do not have ellipsoids, you should not attempt this mod.
