Pancake,
The '87 535iS is the e28 model. I'm not sure if the tranny would work in the e34, but I reckon someone here knows. As for the $350 price tag, can you say road trip? :)

I offer road trip services for .31 cents a mile round trip...
That includes everything execpt for if I have to pay for parking.

Yes Angry, There has been some good stuff to be found on FleaBay lately. Hartge Headers, Turbo set ups, steering wheels, Smileys, First Aid kits and M dead pedals. Right now there is a ANSA Sport muffler available for the 535i with 3" dia. chrome tips. That has to be pretty rare. It will probably rust out just like the Ansa mufflers that I used to put on the 2002. The Turbo set up is local to me and a few others on the board.
Too bad it's Christmas time and only 19 more days to shop.:(

Yeah, I saw the Ansa muffler. There was a whole system as well as a rear section. I also saw Alpina headers, and all kinds of goodies. On the other fleabays, uk and germany, a lot more stuff can be found, but for shipping. Too bad my credit card melted from being scanned so much :(

IIRC, Bruno told me an E28 transmission will fit in an E34.
I want it soooo bad, but I'm broke at the moment.
get someone local to IL to pick it up for you! who needs a $350 loan?

Correction: Bruno says it will fit in an E34 only with "some modifications to the input shaft."
I'm not sure what that would entail, really.
