bill r, anyone, does a steering box rebuild kit exist for e34...

the same way there is one for the e28? i only said "bill" because i figured that most others here would just put a salvaged unit in as a replacement. i think that i might have some significant mechanical wear, and i know that a recirc. rebuild kit usually only contains o-rings and such, but i'd like to give it a try, if one is available. most of driving a e34 (or most other any ger. car) is handling/steering, so, given the opportunity, i'd like to start fresh. thanks.

Yes they are around and they do only contain seals, o-rings, etc.

I can't remember where to find them, but if I do - I'll post up a link.

Search the forums, someone else wrote in about this last month, can't remember whom. They had the same problem, found the rebuild kit Hyper5 mentions and done the repair. Maybe they can steer you in the right direction.

Have you tried calling BMA Auto Parts?
