sure i think the 5s have the e 39 hub dia.....wot size are de fives and are they in nice condition?

They are made for the E39, so as long as the hubcentric rings used to fit the E34 are taken out they're fine.

Will the 17" Style 5s clear the M5 brakes? Probably a pretty important question to ask.
A guy wants to use them a snow tires, and isn't sure if there is enough clearence for 17"s since the M5 has bigger brakes than the other e39s.
