Bumpy start

520i European model, `95 E34. Starts mostly always fine. On occasions however dosnt seem to remember the firing order. This is sometimses sorted by turning off ignition and starting again but on occasions this may have to be repeated many times. Very irritating if you have to catch an airplane. This can happen if the engine is worm or cold and with long periods in between occuerences. where should I start looking? Nick.

there are many things that can be in need of attention here...ignition system inc. plugs, rotor, cap, wires...fuel pressure, filter... intake system/leaks etc.

You can try to reboot the computers but I think you may have more wrong with the car and it should be looked through.

i would start witht dizzy cap(look for cracks) and rotor.A good clean may help
