Dad asked if I wanted to help him help a friend get an old car running. The old car is shown below. 1916 Overland touring car, 4-cylinder. An engineering marvel. Chain drive generator, magneto ignition, an engine-mounted air pump (to pump the tires up if they went low), three forward speeds, with reverse (in 1916!!), oil flow meter in the cockpit. It was a pleasure to be part of it.
Oh, and the 550 was parked at the shop next door...

Ahh, so you were next to K&E! They always have some interesting hardware there- did you get a chance to peek in the part of the building that the 550 is nosed up to??? That's where all the cool stuff hides....

Dennis' shop is in the same complex. Always something neat going on over there. They were wheeling in an Alfa racecar donor. I've been under a lot of money in K&E before. There was also a 1938 Mercedes convertible in the Merc shop over there, nicknamed "Roscoe". Very cool. First year for juice brakes, 4-wheel independent suspension. I learned a lot today!
By the way Bret, did you get my pm about the parchment seat?
Thanks.
