Headlight reminder

Why does my e34 , 525i from '88 has'nt got a headlight reminder. For almost everything wich can go wrong there's a bong and a message ( believe me, my car was not treathed well by the previous owners wen I bought it so I've seen a lot of them)

Is there an easy upgrade to built in a headlight reminder or do I have to look for a simple aftermarket product.. I really mis this feature !!!

i beleive it is an option if you dont have it...how you go about it i dont know.There is a default reminder tho.if you have had the lights on the interior lights come on as soon as turn the engine off,not when you open the door.You can come to recognise this and turn the lights off/If you find out how to retro fit this warning let us know,i think its strange that we dont have it too

Mine has the reminder on the dashboard display, but it doesnt gong.

I also get the GONG along with the "Lights On?" message when I shut off my car with the head/park lights on. Its a 92 525i if that matters.
