E36 sidemirrors on an E34??

Hi all!

Someone is selling to my brother in law a pair of E36 sidemirrors saying that it's a bolt-on to his 1989 E34 to get the 95 look. Is this true? Sorry if this is a stupid question.

No, it is not true. It will not fit without the right mounting plate.
