Well, that should be no problem, there are E30 with M70 V12 engines running.
has anyone on the board done the conversions..would this also work with an e24 630csi engine with 3 speed transmission? since we have a engine sitting in the garage it needs a body, although another e24 would be nice but they are hard to find in Manila. have to live with sticking it on a e30( that is if i can find one for a good price as there a quite a number for sale) sort of like a project to start..and hope it ends some day!
cheers.

it's been done many times even bmw did it, it was called the 333i and i think it was sold in south africa and had 5 lug wheels, a few people on the board have done it too someone will chime in with pics

E32/4 manual is your best donor TBH, the oil pan and pump pick up will need changing to E34 items and i think the older generation of M30's have a coolant pipe on the back of the head so bulk head clearance will be an issue if you want to try to mount the engine further back in the engine bay.
I'm not sure that it would be worth the effort swapping in a 3 liter ?
Sorry if this sounds negative but i'd like to help you avoid any pit falls if posible ?
Theres a few pictures of my swap on the link in my signature, it's by no means any kind of guide but woth a look ?
Just shout if you need any more info ;)

That sounds like a well-balanced chassis (rolls eyes)
