3rd gen into 2nd gen, with a dremmel and two adaptor plugs i didn't even need to cut the harness, if i ever really want to go nuts ill get a rb1 nav unit which should plug right in

for a nav unit you do need the gps receiver but it's small and easyly hidden, i think my buddy that i got the indash cd from installed his receiver in the upper plastic part of the back hatch of his durango when he installed his rb1

Have fun with it. we have a '99 24v 5-spd ext cab 3500. Haven't messed with it yet, but i was thinking a banks or bullydog for it. We pretty much just tow heavy equipment and horse trailers with it. 240k and running like it's brand new. Watch the headlight and tail-light wiring, it's a weak link.

yea it's getting faster all of the time as i fix stuff that got screwed up when the dumbass was swapping and praying trying to fix a cold start problem before i got it. 240k huh been through a few lift pumps ill bet and maybe even a injection pump too? the electric lift pump is probably one of the most hated things on a 24v because when it dies the vp44 injection pump can bust a nut pulling fuel on it's own and fry, general consinses on tdr is banks is overpriced overadvertized and underwhelming, before bombing that 24v check out the forums on www.turbodieselregister.com and see whats a good box for your needs, may even have a used one in the classifieds, from what i've seen most will pay for themselves with improved mpg while towing and unloaded

buddy of mine has a tdi golf mk4
and noticed that highways cruising with
only a little throttle for 10 min or so and
then jumping on it gets a nice poof out
of the all oem system....
