Well, I went to get my emission test today (Chicago) and I was a little worried about passing. I read some posts here about difficulty passing the emission test if you have an EAT or other type of chip. So I followed the instructions per Mark (EAT chip guy) and made sure the car was at normal operating temp. Then I went to the test. Here are the results:
HC - Hydrocarbons - Composite Fast Pass limit is 0.124, my reading is 0.011.
CO - Carbon Monoxide - Composite Fast Pass limit is 0.693, my reading is 0.247. Passed emissions test no problem.
Keep in mind that in Chicago if your car is not ODBII (basically post-96) they then test your car on a suedo-dyno (i.e. rolling test).
My car: 1990 535i manual, completely stock except for the EAT chip. 125,000 miles. Daily driver giving me 17 mpg in city driving.
Hey Mark - thanks for the great chip. And gas prices be damned, I'm keeping my chip and enjoying the power.
