Euro hitch ball size?

On the Westphalia hitch pictures I've seen it doesn't look like the ball is removable from the "J" shaped draw bar. Is it? If not, what size American ball does it correspond to?

I believe Euro size is 50mm

I have no idea what the US/Canada size is though.

Original English size was 50.8mm ( 2" )

Even though we English were pleased to have bigger balls then the Germans, this traditionally caused numerous compatibility problems as you might imagine, until one manufacturer came up with a mechanical design that allowed the larger socket to be properly secured on the smaller ball.

In UK since around 1990, the 50mm ball has been the 'de facto' standard, so not really an issue now.

Hmmm? 50.8mm - a Whitworth size? Believe smaller balls are a universal phenomenon these days... Thanks though - sounds like 2" and open the trailer ball adjustment a tad. Per suggestion I've plumped up my profile a bit so people don't have to guess which country in north, central, or south America I live in!
