Searched and could not find anything reagarding "best" source for a Peake code tester for my 525i.
Found stuff on how to use and codes it would read. Also, I have not seen any resonable prices for used readers on e-bay.

There probably are no reasonable prices on these things. Best bet would be to share one with one or two other BMW owners in your area.

I really do not know any other people to share BMW tools with. In fact, I think tool sharing can be a bit of a "losing" proposition if you are not careful.
In fact, I think I may have some tools that belong to my brother I borowed many years ago. :)

What can the peake tool do that you cant do with a piece wire and the stomp test?

I love mine. I use it all the time when checking out cars for friends, at shows, auto-x etc. Well worth the $150

A stomp test is a pita....
there are some tools that do airbag resets.....

I do not want to spend big bucks? I do not know of any other low cost alternative. Of course, now that I just spent money for a Peake, there will be other choices. :)
