Hi,
can anyone tell me what i need to do to install a obc if i have only 3 wires connected to the plug that is connected to the Clock?
It seems that wiring loom into the back of the clock has not a 'bunch' of wires, it contains only three wires.:(
Is there any chance to work around this issue???
Thanks in advance for your help.:)

I don't know how your german is, but the next link gives you a PDF file with a complete installation instruction for an OBC4.
I've done it with my ex 525tds and it worked!

I also have just 3 wires.
Twism, did you swap your entire wiringharness?

This pdf explains how to swap the harness, but is it really nessesary? Cant I just hook up the new wires that i need in addition to the old harness?

why bother in a 525td
you dont have any of the loom
and your instrument cluster doesnt contain the text display, only 525 petrol and above do
be easier to sell the car and buy a higher speced one
sorry to be blunt
You misunderstood me.
I have a 525i (m50b25 // 24valves)
So i have the right display, but not the right loom...

Espen.
I just added the wires into the old harness, so I didn't change the whole harness.
If you have the ETM for the E34 and that PDF file you can add the right wires to the old harness.

I bought the complete harness and the OBC (all from the same car, wich is identical with mine (525i, m50b25, checkcontrol)
I have switched the harness, but the OBC doesnt works, It lightens up on the buttons, but not the display...
My old harness had 2 big connectors (one black and one white) on the left side under the steering wheel.
The new harness got 3 big connectors there, 2 white ones, and one black. That means that the spare white connector doesnt have a placed to "be connected"
I measured some of the wires on the extra white connector, some of the wires goes up to the OBC connector.
What is the ETM?
