Hard stop shut down & Trans Program error

I am having problems with my 1995 E34 540 automatic transmission. I replace the mass air flow sensor and the throttle position sensor recently because of faults codes but when I stop hard the RPM drop below 5K and the car shuts down. Sometime the trans program indicator lights but if I stop and turn the car off, it resets and everything is fine. I am not sure if these two problems are connected but they did start at the same time.

I have tried using Lucas fuel injector cleaner but I still have the problems. If I stop easy the RPMs will idol around 6K or 7K.

Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated.

you might be low on trans fluid, ither than that it sounds like it has something to do with the quality of the idle causing the errors. Whats the code on the stomp test?

if it doesn't run below 5k, and idles at 6k to 7k .. there are real problems there !

I suspect you don't really mean those engine revs ?

The current code is 1444. And yes I did mean 500, 600 and 700 RPMs

check transmission fluid, and check all the vacuum hoses arround the engine. I had same problem long time ago with one of my Opel's, and topping up the trans fluid and stopping the air leaking into the vacuum system solved the problem. If it is not the oil level issue in the trans, my guess is that You shold search the problem arround the engine idle control.
