are 1990 525i auto transmissions hard to replace?

I rebuilt a porsche YEARS ago but have few tools now-a-days. Any advice links or articles would be appreciated!

i don't have any links, nor have i done it, but i think it's pretty straight forward.

also, bavauto.com and some other vendors online sell rebuild kits for around 300 dollars with all the seals, clutch packs etc etc.
