Outstanding. I've contacted the seller to buy five. Another 100 hp is always useful. I'm just wondering whether putting another three or four across my lights would make my parking lights brighter than zenons. Do you think? I know for sure that I'm putting them across my brake lights so that I won't ever be hit from behind.

LOL! On a similar note, I posted this some years back on a Hi-Fi speaker cable forum.

That was hilarious. Witty, even, here and there.

Pretty funny. Not as good as the guy selling the old motorcycle, or the guy selling the leather pants he bought to impress a girl. Most of these are from England, maybe the high rate of alcoholism is fueling the creativity?;)

you have GOT to be kidding me! this is a complete scham and mostly listed as a joke. But if you did install it I would be curious as to what happened.

Actually, there is a tiny (very tiny) bit of credibility to his claim but I think it would be more on the order of 2 hp at most vs. 20 hp & one would have to put it on a dyno to verify it. Prolly more error in the repeated dyno runs than the actual amount of hp increase

I dabbled with the resistor "trick" to smooth out my idle, by adding a 100 ohm resistor in series with the DME temp sensor:

http://www.nmia.com/~dgnrg/dme-r1.jpg

It tricks the DME into thinking the engine is colder than it really is and runs a slightly richer fuel mixture. It provided a marginal amount of improved smoothness but no major horsepower gains. I next tried a 200 ohm resistor and the idle smoothness improved a bit more but I could feel a slight drop in power & went back to the 100 ohm resistor & I'm still running with it & it passes smog just fine, even with a 3.5 FPR, EAT chip, & 19lb Mustang injectors.

If you zoom in on the resistor the "quack" shows on his Ebay listing, it is a black-green-red which is 500 ohms. Based on my experience, I can't say it would improve performance. There was a BMW factory TSB back in the e24 era m30's which added a 170 ohm resistor in series to help resolve stalling at idle when warm due to the mixture being leaned out too much.

how bout you try a -250 resister?

how bout you try a -250 resister?

dunno. The 100/200 ohm test was enough for me to call it good with 100 ohms, it accomplished my purpose which was to smooth out the idle. With 200 ohms, it developed flat spots under hard acceleration in the 3000-4500 rpm range which weren't there with 100 ohms. It's my understanding that the O2 sensor is going to put the kabosh on radical mixture changes anyway, and fuel mixture alterations need to be handled with a custom chip for it to do any good.

I needed a good laugh! Excellent find.

If this guy does half as good as the biggest gimmick abomination ******** parade of "Splitfire" spark plugs... his villa in the south of France should be almost wrapped up with it's bamboo flooring by now.
