looks like about the simplest way to turbo a m20, who knows how good the flow through stock m20 manifolds are, but it doesent look to tough.

Look good - we'd have to move the battery tray though! Aren't E30 exhaust flanges 3-bolt, and E34 flanges 4-bolt? Might be something to check out before ordering!
Cheers,
Shaun

He doesn't give any details like hp increase etc. I wonder if you'd loose the AC with the istall?

it doesent increas horsepower, the turbo you mount to it adds horsepower. this is a way you not mess with your old dual manifolds and have a turbo bolt up to it, not only that, but have it be a top mount turbo, as for the e30-e34 bolt up issues, i thought that all m20 shared the manifolds, weather it be a 3er or a 5er. if i had a e30 or a e34 and i had serious plans to turbo it but was on a slight budget id buy it, hell even if i wasent on a budget i think id rather do this then have the turbo so inaccessable, but i dont know much about the turbo game so i could be wrong.

isnt your bat. under the rear seat?

kyle Yeah I thought that too. I've just binned an E30 M20B20 manifold and it had three bolts on on the outlet flange. An E34 M20B20 manifold has four bolts.

isnt your bat. under the rear seat?no. all m20s and 91 m50s had it under the hood.

So with 1989 525i I would have to relocate the battery under the seat? Also this would abstruct the access to oil filter

You'll still be able to get to the oil filter, can't see any problems there!

stock m20 manifolds
My manifold is 1 piece for all 6 cylinders and has a 4 bolt flange.
Would probably have to change the manifold.

wow, i dident know there were so many variations, i know that my old e30 had the same dual manifold, and the parts car was the same deal, and i think the a 1990 525i i testdrove had dual manifolds, i assumed this would work, maybe only for e30s, but i would take it for a project e30 maybe

Not sure if you would get the air flow you would want with this setup. I do like the turbos accessability on top, I would be curious to see all hooked up.

you ought to try it, what kind of manifold are you running now?

How about a supercharger?

Rare, but simpler. Not cheap, but has MAF conversion & I get to keep my headers!

for that money id rather have TCD do it, cost about the same, more horsepower

heres a vid of it running

kyleN20, Sorry for the delayed responce, went skiing. Korman did the turbo on my car and I have one piece exhaust. I tried to find a pic of it off the car but the best I could fine was an 4 cylinder exhaust from Korman. http://www.kormanfastbmw.com/turbos.htm
BTW I did have to move the battery to the rear seat. Because of where the turbo attaches below the exhaust, I had to move the oil filter as well. I would be interested to see how the 535 comes out. Keep me posted!
