Shattered Ellipsoid lens '89 535i. Advice?

I guess it took a hit with a rock on the fwy, or maybe somebody hit it while parking, or whatever.

Seems I heard these may be difficult and expensive.

Any info will be appreciated.

They are pretty vulnerable to rocks + road debris- might want to look into some headlight protection like StonGuard or similar.

I have seen the replacement lenses on ebay- "Mr Lens" or something like that- but I've also seen some negative comments about the LOOONG time it takes him to ship (I think they come from So Africa???). You can also find used individual lights- I have a couple of them- let me know which one is broken and I'll see if I have it.

New Low beams are each ~$140 or so, new high beams are each ~$75 or so.... (I KNOW someone will correct the prices, but those are ballpark...)

replacement lenses are available. however, they are plastic, so I did both of mine. they still look brand new after 1 1/2 years. about $40 fro the set. www.mrlens.net I think BMP Design sells them too.
