PoE implementation
A/V install
Cat 6 plenum conversion
etc.
We do independent construction, but more often than not we're traveling behind larger shitty companies that don't know anything about what they're doing and use the worst of everything. "We don't make the _____ you buy, we make the ____ you buy, better"--something like that.
At least that's the forefront. Behind the scenes I employ an electrical enginner and a 2 Net engineers to work on IPV6 and Cat 6 so that we can take over the world (get a bigger piece of the action) when everything becomes part of the net.--My best friend is an MCSA, and my business partner.

I work in the research and development lab for VST or Vapor Systems Technologies. Our home office and manufacturing is based in Dayton Ohio.
We developed and engineered a realitively complex line of C.A.R.B. complient fuel management and delivery systems for densly populated cities who suffer from the fugitive emissions and spills from day to day refueling events, just as you do each week in your Bimmer.
Our nozzle systems are the highest fueling rate avilable and also have a NO DRIP design to lesson fuel on your clothes, car and the ground. Our user stations are amazingly new and clean looking.
We also make an above ground processor that keeps the inground fuel cells/tanks under a constant vacuum and have virtually NO maintenance points.
Our dispencer hoses and safety break-aways are super nice compared to whats been available over the last decade. The hoses are double swivel so you don't have to fight against them while getting the nozzle into your fill pipe.
Our Nozzles are easily recognised by a somewhat smaller ,futuristic appearance and the VST logo on the sides. The best part about all of this ....is that we can get you fueled up quicker with NO fumes or liquid gas on you or the pavement and leave no harmful fugitive emissions tainting the quality of your air and causing health issues ....at an affordable price to the stations who are controlled by very tight oil companies. SO instead of just buying the cheapest crap out there.....this encourages them to go with a safe, complient, regulated system that actually benifits the end users......you and your family:)
Now with less fines to them, if they will just lower the darn fuel prices !!:(
...Cheers, Vinny

Interesting thread.
Having done a rather wide range of software development over the decades, I find computer games to be some of the most challenging software to write. I wrote a good chunk of a little game called 'Age of Empires' some years ago. That eventually bought me the M5 Touring among other things. The most recent game I worked on was 'Brothers in Arms' (a WW2 shooter).

May I suggest you take a holiday in Oz and get an idea of what it is like from that.
The problem with any migration is that there will always be things that are better in your country of origin and other things that are better in your adopted country.
There is much to recommend as far as Oz is concerned, however everything is always in the eye of the beholder and so personal taste is ultimately what decides.
One of the big advantages of Oz is the variety of climates, from living above the snowline in some areas to the tropics in others. Most of us live in moderate climates without snow in winter.
The population density is not very high but is mainly distributed around the coastline. I often spend time at Narooma on the south coast of NSW. Here are some pics :

Don't want to seem like a 'groupie' or anything but you have my respect Matt P :)
BIA Road to Hill 30 and Earned in Blood are my current addictions (I have recently come out of ongoing Beta Testing for a Current WWII based MMPOLG for 6 years) I needed to see what else was happening outside of this and these two titles grabbed my attention.
On the subject of 'Daily Jobs'
I am a Sub Contractor with a company that manages Theatre Venues. I am currently 'the' Theatre Technician for the Queensland Conservatorium Griffith University ( I will post a link to the Theatre's Interior here when I find it)
Basically I meet and greet with Clients and put together the package to have their show in the Venue. This consists of booking Crew, times for bump-in, rehearsals, show and bump-out, then turn around for the next with meetings during all of this for upcoming shows. On top of this I have to be 'on the floor' for all bump-ins, rehearsals, shows and bumpouts/turnarounds as crew cheif to get it all done and be the go-between with the client.
It can be very interesting at times, see some brilliant theatre as well as crap for 'free' but it's the hours that are beginning to wear me down it is not uncommon to do 100+ hours a week when it gets going.
So, mid March the bookings go nuts and you won't see much of me here until I come up for air in about October for two weeks holiday (Am riding down and back to Phillip Island to see the MotoGP circus. Final year of the 990's and possibly Valentino Rossi, my guess is he will stay to take the 800 cc MotoGP title as well, maybe even two 800cc titles, then he'll go looking for greener pastures. At least that is my prediction) Then gone again until mid November.
So yeah it's a job that has allowed me to have three cars ('93 BMW 540i, '00 Mitsubishi Verada Ei {Wife's car}, '93 EB II S XR8 Falcon) and a Bike ('93 Ducati 888 Superbike) But no real time to enjoy them.
Throw two children into that mix and the babysitting fraternity in Bribane love us as we spend Soooooooo much money with them (Wife works full time as Head of Music for Opera Queensland which means big hours for her as well when the Opera is 'in season') Yeah it's an interesting life, but that's not what we were talking about.
My apologies for the digression.

If you get the chance, ask them why the Moto RAZR's "software update" restricted Bluetooth connection to laptops (to download pictures taken with the camera **free**). If you want to get your pictures now, you need to buy cables or picture message a buddy . . . not free.
My wife is upgrading her Verizon phone but the more I find out about them, the more I hate them.

Maybe part of that reason is people tethering the phones illegally, and using the evdo connection for free.?
