Seriously this has peeved me fore a NUMBER of years now. "Oh, 330ci auto, nice car man." "It's actually steptronic." "Oh. Right. Of course."

You must own an E46 ;)
The only thing you "step" on in a steptronic car is the gas pedal.

capabilities of shifting up and down like a manual or faster than a manual... more like a hurst v gate if your familiar with the vgate...

I know what you're saying Bill but the context was like this:
"... car dyno'd 303hp..." "Oh so automatic is like 20% drive train loss..." "... its not automatic its steptronic"

got the converter locked up and on a chassis dyno thats unlikely to be..
