BMW seems to be really charging ahead on new tech! I love it!!!
First they came up with their new diesels that kick @$$ without sacrificing fuel efficiency...
Now they have this hybrid tech? Damn! If they combine that with their current diesel line-up, that's gonna be one mean beast!
Imagine having that much LOW END torque!??!? The electric assist would allow a much more efficient power band since it could be set to fill any gaps in the power curve!
Or imagine what that could do for a gasoline engine? Your low-end would be assisted by the capacitors, giving you diesel pull at the low-end... then benefit from the usual high-end power from the gas engine! You'd have max torque at almost all rpms, and at all speeds!
