the dasilva chips have been known to wake up the 535's, Im sure others do also but there is a lot of people here that use them. they cost less also. Remember you need to run the best fuel you can find with any chip.

The chips will wake up an auto also. Just make sure to use at least 91 octane. Of course mine is the best one made in Canada :D

Works great, car runs stronger in all ranges and is a bit easier to drive. Been in my car for at least a year. Highly recommended. Use at least 91 octane gas.

Not to hijack the threat, but will that chip work in my 520i M50TU?

I also have a 535 Auto. I'm thrilled with my D'Sylva chip. Would do it again in an instant.

Your car requires the chip I developed for the Siemens 5wk 9002 ECU as that's what is in your car. I assume you don't live in the USA as the m50b20tu was not sold there. (but it was in Canada and elsewhere)

Is there any estimate as to the increase in power due to the chip? and this chip seems to be a lot more expensive than the others.

Really? I thought Mark's chip was among the least expensive options.
Mark can probably quantify the improvement for you. It's small, but definitely noticeable. I don't think you could get more performance for $200 with any other modification. With the 535, the most noticeable improvement to me was the increased torque at low-ish RPM.
Keep in mind it takes several miles for the chip to 'kick-in'. So don't be disappointed if you don't notice anything straight away. You will in a day or two.
Thanks again, Mark. Still enjoying my chip and extolling its virtues :)

About 13 hp for that motor. Yes it is more expensive. The reason is that I had to reverse engineer a Siemens ECU and then there are such a small number of sales for that chip. (I've sold less than 10) Check around at what other companies sell a chip for that motor for, mine is about 25% to 33% of their price.

If you were to chip an M20, then modify the head with a schrick cam, good springs and valves, bored throttle body, would all these changes work with the chip? Or is the chip meant to work with a stock motor?

It's mean for a stock motor, or one with 17/19# injectors. I'd have to tune a chip for the other mods on a dyno. If the motor has a MAF instead of flapper type AFM, the same chip should work wioth any mod that just changes airflow.

What is the horsepower/torque increase for a build date 05/1993 540ia if i got an EAT chip?
Dinan chip is too expensive and apparantly only increases power in the upper rpm range so i am looking into an EAT chip
