it was a crappy 88 528 (filthy piece of **** would be more accurate) i could drive it anywere as long as it was in reverse, no forward movement at all, this is how i like it but sometimes they don't move at all. this is how they usually look, roasted toasted and burned to a crisp, this one was real bad, a couple of the steels were worn a good bit, usually they are just blue and purple and mabie scared up a little

i've seen a used set of bushings for a rc car on ebay, that's in the running for the dumbest thing i've seen. if you are not into rc cars, the absolute 1st mod you do to a rc car is replace the bushings with bearings, the crappy plastic bushings suck ass when they are new

Was this the A-clutch pack? I found out my son's "friend" did the old neutral slam on the '90 525. Now the tranny slips. Is it still likely the A-clutch repair will do the trick, or is it a gonner?

Thanks

Bill

it's possible that it blew the basket for the a clutch apart, if that's the case yes, if it took out the planetarys it's toast, i've seen both ways

Winfred, can you check the planetary gears without pulling the trans by pulling the valve body? Or do you have to remove the trans, bell housing, and clutch packs to have a look through the front?

you don't need to see em if they are trashed, just grab the 3" gear that goes inside of the a clutches and turn it, if it turns smoothly they are ok, if it's all crunchy and or skips it's toast and needs more work then i like to do usually
