Are all E34s wired so that the high beams and fog lights cannot be turned on at the same time? I just installed some new fogs (finally got rid of that F/FOG LIGHT warning in the dash), but when I switch on the high beams the fogs turn off. Is this because the alternator can't keep up? Maybe if I turn the engine on then... :D

u dont turn on high beams in the fog - ud go blind
so yeah all bmws have this "feature"
engine on or off =]
fogs + low, fogs only, or high and low, or just low, or just parking lights
are ur options

Ah, thanks mate. I was rather asking because I wanted my front end to look like the 4th of July, not so much because of lighting in the fog :p

that option is country specific with the US stating that a maximum of 4 front "lights" maximum. can get a serious ticket if you rewire them.

Think Jeff warned you already on what may happen if you rewire.

That whole mess was over his set of 6 KC baja lights.

yep, it's country (regional) specific. Euro aka aussie (LKM's) allow this feature, whilst the USA cars do not.
