OT--New Project Car?

Since my car is coming up on 200k miles and I'd like to own it for a few more years, i'm considering http://columbus.craigslist.org/car/136882263.html

No clue where the "some rust" is, its only about 25-30ish miles from me, might have to go take a look, not bad for 600$, see if they'll take 300$...weeee new project.

The eta motor was widely avoided in OZ but I know you guys have really strict emissions laws. Is this why they are spoken of fondly in the States?
