guys, I have a '95 525i parts car, and a fellow E34 driver here in town needs an auto tranny for his '92 525i- I looked in the ETK and noticed different BMW part numbers for the '92 and the '95. Looks like the same basic tranny, but with a different suffix on the tranny part number ("EH" vs "SH" or something like that??).
My question is, will the '95 tranny work ok in the '92 car??
Thanks, Bret.

it will work or not.... If you did change it I would definitely change the trans computer too, since the shift points are probably different

Should be no problem... as Bill stated... I did the similar thing on MB... two different part number... newer tranny in older car with same similar engine. The new tranny worked alot better than the old tranny... car felt alive after changing it.
