Hi

I am sure this may have been covered before, but can't find an answer by searching.

My electric auxiliary cooling fan (the one attached to the front of the radiator) does not seem to want to work, either when the aircon is on, or when the car has warmed up.

I have removed the connector from the thermostat on the side of the radiator, and jumped the wires. When jumping the high speed wire, the fan comes on a spins nice and fast. However when jumping the slow speed wire, you can hear the relay click, but there is no movement at the fan.

Obviously it is not a problem with the fan (thankfully), but somewhere in the electrical system.

Does anyone have any thoughts? I guess it could be the thermostat, but surely the fan would work in both fast and slow speeds when I jump the wires.

Many Thanks

If the fan does not work on slow speed, it's probably the resistor gone toes up. Not too hard to replace, and not too expensive. Look in the Bentley book for more info.

Any idea where I can get a new resistor??

I just replaced mine. Call the guys at BMA.
Make sure you get the right one. It is the barrel type.

I actually have one that I ordered, but then found the blown fuse and didn't need to put it in. You can also get them from BMA.
