Radio Replacement?

I was curious about choices for replacing the radio that comes in a E34 525i from 1995. I was thinking of replacing it but I was hoping you could point me in the direction of something that looks like it BELONGs in the BMW. The radio I have now may only have a tape deck but you can see how it fits in. Also curious if the present radio could be retrofitted with a line in for an MP3 player (maybe by using the unused CD player connector?).

I spent a long time researching the same issue. I finally gave up and bought an Alpine that is close enough for me.
