question about eat chip

i put in chip for my 91 535i. now my gas gauge isnt reponding to my full tank of gas i just put in and my trip meter says it only has 58 miles left. essentially where everything was before the chip and fillup ??????

My gas gauge does that sometimes when I use my remote starter and then it just starts working usually at the next start up.
