I use Michelin Pilot HX MXM tyres in this size - absolutely fantastic IMHO. :)

I have the Falkens in the 16" model, I like them quite well but the noise is a bit on the loud side if not on asphalt roads. They handle good (I dont push the limits) and are round...which was an issue with 2 other brands.

Ty i think for the help.. although back to the question at hand. Many offered criticism of the choice but few offered alternatives.
So.. money partially an object.. what ties? All Season, we get lots of rain.

If you live in Australia, Dunlop SP3000s are fantastic.
They are standard tyres here for the Ford XR6 Turbo and Ford XR8 (245kw and 260kw respectively). Both these cars also weigh about 1700kg and they still handle well for their weight!
Dad these tyres on his E39 530i and we're very happy with them. They have very little tyre noise, better ride comfort and much better longevity. This is in comparison to the Dunlop SP2000s we had on before! Interestingly the SP2000s are even more expensive...
As further proof, I've driven a 1999 Lexus IS200 with the same tyres and it handles so well!!! SP3000s are awesome! But they are made in Australia and I'm not sure if they are exported...

I have the Falkens on my 15" rims. Put them on last year. Very highly rated by Consumer Reports and on Tire Rack. Very pleased, yes they do produce a bit of noise but are comfortable and provide great traction in wet and dry conditions. Bought the car with Michelin Pilots and don't feel that I traded off in the switch.
However I do use winter rubber from Janaury to mid-March.:D
