My friend got a carbon fiber driveshaft for his 3000GT
I was going to do the same, but decided suspension would be better for my car.
there is a company that does make a 2 piece carbon driveshaft that will fit our cars, BUT.... you need exact measurements to have them replicate a replacement.

Call Beyer Driveline in AZ. You'll need to find a retailer willing to sell their stuff to you (we do) as they only do wholesale (but Beyer Motorworks, their BMW service front, might sell them). Replaceable joints, top quality, expedient, in my book the best you can get for a BMW.
