Can someone tell me how to remove the armrests on the driver and passanger front seat. Also, need to know what is involved in removing the panel on the back of the front seats. I have done a search re: the above but only found how to remove the headrests. Many thanks in advance to all who can assist.

IIRC the seat back have clips that expand after they slip past the seat body. You should be able to carefully pry the back off. I broke the bottom clip on mine figuring it out and had to glue it back on the board for it to hold again when I re installed it.
You should be able to see how the arm rest is attached with the cover off.

There's a pin that holds the armrest on. Once you get the back pannel off, you should be able to see it.

i think you might find it easier to remove the 2 nuts in the picture rather as the pin

and tapped out the pin. The arm came right off after that. Putting it back in was a bit more difficult.
Good luck.

Oh...
Whilst on the topic.
Can armrests be fitted to seats that weren't optioned with them originally??
Dad's 525i has them, and my 535i doesn't...

yes, the holes are there in the metal seat frame, but you will need to cut a recess in the rear cardboard ish seat cover, very easy, just compare the one that has armrests to that that doesnt and cut
