Haaah. Remove the glass. Heated mirrors have a heater matrix with two leads.

E32/E34 mirror glass pries out. E30 glass unlocks.

There's a little hole at the bottm of the mirror chassis, in which a small thin blade screwdriver can access the locking collar and rotate it to release the mirror.

have your catcher's mitt on, cause if it's not heated, there is nothing holding it once the collar unlocks. pop & crssh

and memory mirrors will have four buttons somewhere on the side of the drivers seat adjutment buttons
