Hi ... my a/c stopped cooling. When I look at the compressor the clutch doesn't engage. I don't even hear the click to trigger it. Can I power the compressor at its connector directly from the battery just to isolate if its the compressor or controller?
Thanks

Yes, but don't let it run more than a moment to test clutch operation. There are a number of reasons why the compressor might not run, including everyone's favorite, low refrigerant from a leak.

Yes, check refrigerant pressure. Too low will not allot the compressor to turn on.

There is also a lock sensor which will disengage the compressor when it seizes.
In my car it sits behind the speaker in the footwell drivers side.
