What do the last letters on bimmers stand for such as "is" "cs" ect.

i = fuel injected (kind of redundant)
is = " " sport
ic = ' " cabriolet
ci = later version of the above
ti = small as ****
iT = fuel injected touring
cs = club sport i think?

x=All Wheel Drive, important BMW dont call it 4 wheel drive!

you mean tds, there's no TDI thats a VW, theres TD and TDS

herm, not just M3, also 3.x :) Thanks I didn't know, I though it was only the M3 - still more expensive than a mission to Mars though.

A mate has an E46 323Ci, and its not a rag-top.

d = diesel
c = 2-doors (coupe and cabriolet)
x = all wheel drive
l = leichtbau (lightweight)
s = sport
ti = Turismo internazionale
A = automatik

Yeah the old 3.0, 3.2 and 3.5 also had the letters CSL in their model name. Same principle as the M3 CSL: BMW stripped everything out and you paid twice as much!

The last 'i' is for injection as in tourismo international(sic) injection.
