Many of you likely know the notorious V8 engine oil pump bolt coming loose syndrome. I got an V8 motor (Nikasil) at 66 k miles for my 540. The engine is very clean. The valve trains and the sump are spotless.

I want to go over the oil pump bolts before sealing the sump. Naturally the best way is to remove the pump, which I did.

There are 11 M6 bolts, 3 M10's and one nut for the oil pump sprocket. My question is what temperature is the engine oil at running condition? I used Loctite 272 which is good for 450 deg F. But I ran out of it applying it to the 11 M6 bolts. I am left with Loctite 290 which is supposedly stronger but only good for 300 deg F.
I couldn't get Loctite 272 at Pepboys or Autozone, only 290.
