Has anyone investigated doing headwork and Cams on a m60 engine? After the Manual transmission conversion..... I am thinking "gosh a little more power would be really neat with this latest mod".
I would appreciate any thoughts or key learnings people have on the topic. - JT

It is a good question and I have just posted a similar one of the German E34 site.
If I find out anything I will post back here. I suspect it costs big dollars and that if you are looking to spend big $, most people conclude you get more hp per $ taking the supercharger route.
But let's wait and see!
Cheers

last I looked the cams alone were about 2500.00 US dollars. The gains will be in the 4500-7000rpm area, low rpm torque will fizzle. Dont remember anyone around here doing much in that area, I questioned it when I first wandered here too. The cam specifications between the 530 and 540 are the same too.

Had looked years ago and came to the same conclusion...could probably pull 330-340 out of the motor but that's an expensive 10-12% power increase...
