this just happened last night...
turned on the aircon of my car...
the blower was ok... but the compressor did not turn on...
tried clicking the snowflake button on and off...
nothing happened...
after 10 minutes driving... then compressor turned on...
what the?!?! can anyone guess what's wrong with it...
(btw this morning... same scenario :p )

Dunno but I have 2 good A/C compressors from a '92 525i M50 if that helps ya.

check the pressures, it could have too much pressure.

Possibly low refrigerant. When every thing is cold, there is too little pressure to allow the compressor to activate, after every thing warms up a bit, the pressure climbs and the compressor is allowed to start. Other likely culprit is a sticky relay or the plug at the compressor is loose making intermittant connection. Check the simple stuff (fuses etc) then get the pressures checked.
