Factory HiFi amp Location

Hi,

I have a 92 525i wagon and am having trouble locating the amplifier. The car does have the 10 speaker system. The back left removeable panel in the luggage area has the connections for a CD player, phone, and security system but no other wires.

Any help would be appreciated.

Most e34's that I've seen have the amp located on the left (driver's side) of the trunk. It looks like a black box (behind some frame work), with 2 plugs consisting of many wires. In my sedan, it was just behind the tail light housing.

On the touring, it should be behind a panel on the back left. The bracket that holds the CD changer is attached to this panel. You have to peel back some of the insulation to find the screws/nuts that hold it in place--I think I remember a few nylon nuts. It's a bit of a pain to wrestle out of there.

I didn't recognize the panel as being seperate from the body. Hmm..., more room to put stuff!
