Bavauto in an e-mail told me their cabin filter is actiivated charcoal and is made by Mann. Never seen one for our cars before.

Me too. I could use it for a cookout instead of just dumping it in a landfill.

Interior Cabin Air Microfilter - Activated Charcoal
Cabin air filters should be replaced every 10,000 miles or once a year. Saturated filters have an adverse effect on blower output and may hinder or prevent the defogging of windshields or side windows.

filter catalogue on mann's own website, their combi filter or charcoal filter is called adsotop, i don't believe they show an adsotop filter for your car in it. The normal mann cabin filter has a CU number on it , the combi cabin filter which is the carbon one has a CUK number. Check mann's online catalogue here....

Of course it may be a new item that they haven't updated the online catalogue for.. but it seems unlikely. The charcoal filters are obvious in appearance and price also..

Good point, this is why i contacted them. Even so, my confidence level in Bavauto's data is not super high. Thought someone here would know the true story. Thank you (as usual!)
