Whats the best or easiest way to test if the pressure is being maintained on my E24's system. I think the tank/cap may not be holding the pressure.

Best way is with a pressure tester.

Over tightening the cap can distort the resavoir resulting in a leak at the cap.

you can spritz it down with soapy water and look for bubbles.

slightly over fill the resavoir when cold, run until hot, if its leaking at the cap seal or the cap is not holding pressure, you will see it bleed at the cap.

No pressure tester so I'll try other suggestions, hoping my system is losing pressure there so I can fix this stupid problem. I think new cap & tank are only $60 or so combined.

Yesterday I ran it sitting for at least 45 mins, needle was 2/3 to 3/4, aux fan came on when it was shut down and key in ignition position.

Thing is, I just put in the supposedly repaired cluster and not sure if my bro did the work right, batteries may not be installed in parrell. Forgot to check. Inspection lights still not working properly...

most shops will let you borrow a tester for the night. Doesn't cost them anything, if you are a customer.

2 BAR is about 28 pound from memory.

one bar or 14.7, even though the cap pops off at 2 bars.
