I have a 1992 525i that has been throwing a intermittent check engine light. When I check the codes is give me a 1221 (O2 sensor). OK, but the problem is it just keeps giving me the 1221 sequence over and over and over, it never seems to get to the end. I walked away for 20 minutes and it was still giving the the same code. I tried to disconnect the battery but still have the problem. How do I get to the end to clear the codes???
Thanks.

Is this what you need?
From bmwe34.net:
Clear the codes
1. Read the codes. At the end, make sure that the 1000 code (short blink and nothing) is present then depress the accelerator for at least 10 seconds.
2. To check, depress the accelerator pedal 5 times within 5 sec and make sure that the 1444 code (no fault stored) is present.

The problem is that there is no end. I literally sat there for 20 min and watched it. It only blinked the one 1221 code over and over.

You dont have to wait til the end. In the instruction they say to wait til end because they dont want you to miss any code.
When it is still blinking thru the codes depress the accelerator for more than 10 seconds. It worked for me.

The end may be considered the longer 2 odd second blip which marks the start/end of a code sequence.
My guess. Either way, try Aruns idea if you can't make heads or tails.
