Yokohama Avid H4 OK for Mom, Sis, wife or girl friend car? Understand hyper e34 enthusiasts probably wouldn't use such a tire, but how bout the important women in your lives. Grandma needs tires.

Am not familiar with that tyre, but would always recommend Michelin and once again to quote my favourite saying "buy tyres you can't afford" is my golden rule.
I run Michelin Pilot HX MXM tyres on my E 34 and they are nothing short of brilliant. I also run Michelin Diamaris on my wife's ML 270 CDI and they are also very impressive.
Interestingly, the 275 / 55 / 17 tyres on the Merc were cheaper than the 225 / 60 / 15 tyres on the E34.

Had them on my daughter's Camry. Pretty good tire, but not a performance tire. Local shop pushed them as they had a reasonable price, long lasting and good in rain, if i remmember correctly. Check with tire rack for another opinion.

I will not mention my kumho tires, even if they are cheap, quiet and good NC spring rain tires.

Dunlop Sport A2 tires = awsome....but a little bit soft on the sidewalls.

Man i can't really afford S03's hehe:p
I recently put Avid V4s tires on my wife's 99 528iT (225/55/16's). We got a lot of rain this winter, and they seemed to do fine in the wet. I have not tried them in the snow, but I would recommend them without hesitation for "normal" driving.
