My name is Nicholas and I just joined the forum after months of enjoying the great advice. Just installed a Dalan hitch after reading about it here. Wondering if anyone has any advice regarding putting some 16" e38 rims on my e34. I know they'll fit but am not clear on exactly what size tire I will need to buy. Anyone who knows more than me about this is encouraged to help! Thanks. Nicho

225/55/16, you want something with a straight sidewall because theres not much clearence on the front, a fat sidewall will rub on the strut tube, i like the kumho 712's cheep quiet and grippy

Does it need spacers, or just bolt right up, winfred?

no spacers or rings, but fat tires can rub

I like the 225-50-16's on the bottlecaps.

Hey winfred, thanks for the help, checked out those tires, wondering if the kumho 712 225/50/16 works too? Just curious.

Hey Martin, nice ride. So those are 16" bottlecaps? From where? Not OE for the e34 right?

I may have them for sale. Now running staggered T-stars.

probably they are a little shorter and will throw off the speedo slightly and the shorter tires may not be avalable in the harder longer wearing compound that i used, the 712s come in two compounds for different speed ratings, use to be 149 mph and 186 mph but i think they changed the lower rating to the 130 area, not sure how the faster tires wear and act

Yup, those are what I'm looking for, those are the OE 15" right? Keep me posted if you're selling soon.

16" bottlecaps were the crappiest base wheels for the 750iL, from what I've seen.

225/55HR16 Nokian NRW. No rub. Great tires - wear like iron. They're my old winter setup - 40% tread left, for sale if anybody needs them.
