I coming home the other night and as I am driving past a tow yard I catch a glimpse of the rear of an E34.
Like a vulture I quickly decide to swoop into the yard and see if the guys are willing to sell some parts off the car.
It was a sad sight, front end crash on a gray narrow grill 525, too bad. Hope no one got hurt.
The owner of the yard said he already had another guy stop by and l ask about the car too, and that the driver has not yet come forward to claim the car, he suspected the guy may be in trouble "no insurance".
I left my card with the yard hoping I can get a chance at some parts or maybe buy the whole thing if it is manual.

Why should the real world be any different to the military? BTW shotgun the instrument cluster if it's still working ok, mine is so ugly with all the cracking and flakeing dials/lcd display.

My E34 is a UK import - it only has that empirical crap on it, and Km/h in tiny numbers on the inside of the spedo. BTW I thought the US was legally required to change over to metric since '96 or so? What's the hold up?

off of Ebay.
I don't think this car would have one anyway...they don't show up too often on U.S. cars

If it happens to have a leather holder for the owner's manual, I'll buy it.
Are you going for parts to replace as yours fail, or parts to sell? What came to my mind was the stuff that fails on everyones like the lkm and the glove box but that is probably not were the money is.
I am surprised what you are saying about tool kits. My car has one. Califblue's has one. My former e30 convertible had one. Can't remember about the former 525 though.

the odd item and have a few spares for the stuff that always fails.
The glove box latch is on my list.
Got a LKM, CCM & bag o relays
The leather manual case...I have yet to see one in an E34 here, mostly plastic crap. I ended up buying one off of Ebay for $9.00. i think it was from an E39, but everything fits.
