I tried one of those when I was replacing my thrust amrs last summer. It kept slipping off. I ended up using the style with two hinged clamping arms and a center bolt, similar to a gear puller. Worked like a champ!

well I hope it works, ya know I have gear pullers but never thought about using one...:(

That's what I used, worked like a charm for me.
