e34 Gauge Mounting Options

Guys I am thinking about doing an Oil Pressure; Oil Temp; Voltmeter gauge set in my 540. I am looking at the VDO Gauges.

Where do people mount these gauges? What have you guys used to mount? How did you find the parts for the mounting options you chose?

I would assume the only suitable place would be where the ashtray is.

Good choice with the VDO, the amber ones match BMW's interior light color perfectly!

Nice panel. Suggestion on guage selection. Oil temp can be rigged to switch to AT fluid temp for AT cars. AT fluid temp is primary contributor to AT life. AT fluid degrades very rapidly at high temps. Run full synthetic to dramatically slow degredation. Google for AT temp and be prepared to be surprised by hunderds of hits.
