Does anyone know the actuality of these chips? Do they really add a noticable amount (22hp claim)?

Well when I recieve I'll let you guys know how it goes.

If 1/95 and newer it will have EWS security system. Unless designed for these newer cars, the ebay chip will not work. Check your build date if in 1994, you should be ok. That said, I suspect the ebay chip is and illegal "clone" of either an EAT chip or Turner chip. I would not use it. I would spend the $200 or so for an EAT chip. It works!

I don't know about your $20.00 chip, but I know my $250.00 chip works as advertised. Go ahead and jam that sucker in your bimmer and tell us how it goes. It can't hurt... or somethin..

Don't buy chips from bootleggers, get a genuine EAT chip.

Oh you're no fun. At least it's more expensive than a hamburger. I'm just waiting for somebody to put a gumball machine prize into the brain of their BMW. And maybe film it for posterity.

$1500.00 rims- Check
$500.00 tail fin- Check
$400.00 tires- Check
Skimping on Arby's to buy the computer to run it all-
Priceless

Seriously Burtonboard, don't compromise the sanctity of your German engineered masterpiece of automobiles. At the time of build, these cars were engineered with the highest quality and performance of parts money could buy. You are not doing it any justice by putting cheap parts into it. If anything you will ruin the performance and possibly the safety of the car. It's not worth it if later on down the road you have to replace the engine because of that cheap **** chip. I kept my mouth shut the last time you posted about buying parts off of eBay. But basically, you get what you pay for and engine management is not something you should skimp out on.

im not saying i would get a cheap chip, but in reality the actual chips cost like $5 to make. Just because its cheap doesnt mean its bad.

The thing is that they simply copy a chip, that somebody else spent a lot of time and effort developing. What they do is simply copying, I doubt he actually developed it.

Feedback doesn't mean anything....

How much does a ECU cost now days?... thats what you gotta be thinking about before you throw some random chip in...
